MUSEUM OF LOJZE SLAK AND TONE PAVČEK

 

MUSEUM OF LOJZE SLAK AND TONE PAVČEK in a modern interactive museum, located along the main road through Mirna Peč and only four kilometers from the motorway exit, is a permanent exhibition on accordionist Lojze Slak. However the memorial collection of poet Tone Pavček is located in his native village of Šentjurij in the Dolenjska region, only four kilometers away from the museum.

It is not just about seeing accordions, records, awards, photographs, original furniture from Slak's music studio and other material from the life of the world-famous accordionist Lojze Slak, but a real experience of Slak's music. Visitors can try their hand at playing "Button Box" accordion and play some of Slak's melodies, record their performance with video accompaniment by the Lojze Slak ensemble in the so-called accordion show, sing together and try many local delicacies. As a souvenir, they can buy something in the museum shop.

In Mirna Peč, fans as well as performers of Slak's music will be able to enjoy themselves. At the audio-video points, you will be able to listen to many hits of your choice and watch the band's performances. Researchers of Slak's legacy are offered an expanded selection of material, where they will be able to review Slak's songbook, newspaper articles, etc.

The museum can be visited by all age groups, as it is adapted for the disabled, deaf (induction loop) and the visually impaired, while the blind have a leaflet in Braille. School groups are also invited to visit the museum, as the program is adapted to the children, each child tries to play the accordion, and they can also enjoy listening to music at audio-video points around the museum.
